All in One Color Laser for Office?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a good All in one Color laser for the office. I general don't know much about laser printer because I always use a inkjet even when I was in college for Graphic Design. I don't think the company I'm working for can afford a 13x19 color laser at the time which I don't think they make any all in one. 8.5x11 or legal size is good enough but don't want to spend over $500 for a good one.

what will it be used for ?

just office documents with simple flat color graphics and such.

or will it also be used to print photos or such.

if it's option 2, then you'll want to go with a high capacity office ink MFP. they can actually be cheaper in use than a laser as well.

Then you want a high volume ink printer, like the HP ink MFP's but they're probably out of your price range. but they're awesome inline full A3 printing at 50-60 pages per minute.

for your budget you're probably looking at something like the Epson work force series printers. they should even be below your budget, and they're really cheap to use thanks to the huge ink reservoirs. Won't quite give the same quality as a proper photo printer either, but it prints a lot faster and cheaper, and with photo paper you're not really going to notice a difference.

That's a laser printer. look for officejet ink printers with pagewide technology.

As for the aforementioned Epson workforce printers, while they're similar to the Officejet X printers, they have regular small printheads that move back and forth, so while they are as effective ink wise, they're not nearly as fast as the HP ones with pagewide.

Whatever fits your requirements and has pagewide technology. Not sure if the 8600 does, but I think all the x series have pagewide.
