The Omni by Virtuix is a natural motion interface for virtual reality applications.

The Omni is the first omni treadmill that is affordable for household consumers, fits in a living room, and above all, enables the user to walk freely and naturally in virtual environments.

Applications of omni-directional movement in virtual reality stretch far beyond gaming: training and simulation, fitness and exercising, virtual tourism, virtual tradeshows and events, virtual meet-ups and multi-person adventures, virtual workplaces, virtual museums, physical therapy, VR architecture, VR concerts, etc. The possibilities are limitless. Virtual reality is the future.

Virtuix is currently preparing a Kickstarter campaign to launch the Omni.

I think I can sell my Wife on the Oculus Rift, but I doubt this'll fly. Personally I wouldn't want to be seen with one of those anyways, to over-the-top-geek for me lol

Ahh yes, I caught that TF2 video last week. It's like a portable version of

, only a lot sooner than I'd have expected. :) I'd love to have one of those. Not sure I could fathom the cost though; I read that they're planning to make it less than $1,000, so it'll probably be $999.

That is extremely affordable, considering the last one of these I saw was in the $10,000+ range and took up more than 4 times the space of most bedrooms.

Holy cow. :o Shipping costs would probably be at least $100 to here, but still, that'd be amazing! Just a shame I'm currently 40lbs over the 285lbs weight limit mentioned on there; but I'll probably get below by the time they start shipping. :p
