Windows 7 & 8 Development

Recommended Posts

Did the Microsoft Windows team who developed Windows 7 also help to develop (or developed) Windows 8? Windows 7 and Windows 8 seem to have a different essence or personality than Vista and drastically better performance as well! Microsoft must have gotten new people in after Vista to refresh the Windows line!

Sinofsky came in after Vista to bring us Windows 7 and then Windows 8. Vista came around many many years after XP, and the hardware was not ready for it. But it was the re-architecture of Windows that Vista brought in that allowed Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows RT and Windows Phone 8 to exist.

I'm of the opinion that finishing all your sentences with ! takes away from your credibility.

Windows XP was notable different to Vista, as Vista was to 7, and clearly 7 to 8.

The same basic development team was used, and Sinofsky was in charge of both Windows 7 and Windows 8. /shrugs

The change was the focus on tablet/touch interfaces. That's the fundamental difference between the OS's.

Windows 7 and 8 feel like a house that has been renovated when you compare them to Vista. Windows Vista was like a 200 year house in desperate need of a refresh.

I have a bad habit of using exclamation points lol

Vista was an enormous rebuild of the operating system.

It changed the structure of Windows dramatically and introduced much improved driver interfaces.

Vista was a necessary (albeit unpolished) stepping stone towards Windows you see now days.
