It's pretty common knowledge that these games are rigged.

That's irrelevant - it's illegal to rig such games and people shouldn't have to worry that they are being ripped off.

People should always worry that they are being ripped off, usual consequence in neglect of that is -- shock and awe -- being ripped off.

Gribbohm lost $300, WBZ-TV reports, "went home to get $2,300 more and soon lost all of that as well."

I can't feel too sorry for them since he left and got more money and came back.

Don't let this guy go to Vegas. He will come back with half his organs missing.

I went to the world fair a few years ago.. In Hong Kong. Played the gun pellet game. First game found that the gun was shooting to the left. Re-zeroed my mark and after that I kept winning. After 5 games the guy would not let me play any more. won 5 large bears. gave 4 of them to passer bys with kids.

After losing the $300, why wouldn't he just spend the $100 and buy a Kinect instead of wasting his money. Idiot...

If you look at his pic this story isn't surprising. As an added bonus it looks like he's added to his gene pool.

I'm sure that was pure coincidence. :shifty:

Yep, but reality isn't like that. Whenever possible, people do illegal things.

Update:

Reveling in the misfortune of others isn't something I try to frequently do, but the larger-than-life story about a New Hampshire man who burned through his life savings at a carnival in an attempt to win a Kinect was simply too much to handle.
Making matters even more humorous, Henry Gribbohm ultimately ended up with a stuffed banana as his prize. The thing had dreadlocks, for eff's sake! Questions of whether the carnival game was rigged aside, it seems he'll be okay after all. College Humor has smartly leveraged the viral nature of this cautionary tale to help Gribbohm and itself out.

The site set up a Facebook "Likes" goal that promised to pay him back his lost savings of $2,600 for the banana as well as give the guy his sought-after Xbox 360 Kinect bundle. The goal was, of course, reached. And he says he's putting the money toward a college fund for his children and a Boston Run donation. What a shockingly happy ending this turned out to be.

Why don't you show a little more respect? He had a point there.
