Avi Patel Posted May 3, 2013 Share Posted May 3, 2013 I'm thinking of buying the Vizio e241-a1 (24 inch 1080p hdtc led razor) but it has no game mode under tv settings. Standard mode sets the various picture settings to values that will produce the best picture in the most cases. This is therecommended setting. ? Movie mode sets the picture settings to values perfect for watching a movie in a dark room. ? Game mode optimizes the picture settings for displaying game console output. ? I would disagree with you there, its definitely the music games where you will see it the most. I never had an issue with fighting games. Not true. depending on the TV, game mode will disable all the image enhancement and picture processing, delivering the unprocessed picture straight on screen, avoiding delays from the image processing. this can actually be up to 1 second on some TV's with heavy processing. It will also change a bit how the panel operates, making it change colors faster, or rather, it allows the panel to not completely change to a color intensity so it can change back faster. This is why it loses contrast. So yeah, game mode will on any mid-high end model, reduce input lag significantly, as well as speed up the panels ability to switch colors at the cost of color quality and contrast.
