francescob
Apparently for Logitech and Microsoft all that matters now is flooding the market with quirky, fashionable touch-based trash. Is there any model from other brands with wireless, side scrolling and possibly a decent battery life/sensor I should consider buying? I'm currently moderately satisfied with the Logitech Marathon mouse or the Laser Mouse 6000 but the first has an horrible build quality (already replaced it twice) and the second has an horrible sensor that picks any grain of dust from miles away and from other dimensions. tuckeratlarge
I use the excellent Logitech Darkfield Anywhere MX wireless mouse which does indeed have the side scrolling capability. Stetson and Brandon H 2 Share
Marshall Veteran Posted May 3, 2013 Veteran Share Posted May 3, 2013 Logitech M510. You can't beat as far as functions for the price.
Liana
I unsure of the availability of it anymore, but I'm using a Logitech MX1100 and I absolutely love it. Great battery life, side scrolling, adjustable DPI, and comfortable. I hope it lasts for many more years. I've been rather unimpressed with Logitech's lastest mouse offerings. francescob
logitech g700, wired/wireless hybrid mouse I finally saw the G700s but the battery life seems to be horrible (1 week at best with drivers&power saving enabled, 1 day without the drivers or power saving), seems pretty hard to use with the cable and also it seems to have the same wheel as the M705 where the lightest amount of dirt can send the sensor crazy, aggravated by the fact that many logitech mouses can't be opened without having to destroy the plastic pads at the bottom. I'd get the G500s in an instant if they bothered adding the side-scrolling but apparently they couldn't resist crippling the newer product. Maybe I should just settle for some older model, the fact that even on newegg the best reviewed mouses are the most featureless notebook ones says a lot all on how horrible and poorly designed the current models are. PGHammer
I use the excellent Logitech Darkfield Anywhere MX wireless mouse which does indeed have the side scrolling capability. In my case, I use the even older Logitech V220 Cordless. Despite the "for Notebooks" in its name, it's for any hardware that supports USB 2.0 or above (from desktops to tablets) - I use it with my desktop (which runs four OSes), and I've seen it used with notebooks, netbooks, and tablets - including iPads and Android tablets. More than once, I've called it the utility outfielder of wireless mice. My quibble is with Logitech's SetPoint mouse driver and utility software - it's piggy and largely pointless - therefore, I won't use it. Because it's as basic as it gets, it's cheap - typically $30 (new) at any office-supply store (Staples, Office Depot, etc.).
