Government forces benefits claimants to use Windows XP and IE6

Recommended Posts

Its prolly based on the fact that most of the old public library pcs are XP ie6, and all the claimants with no job, no money, no internet will have to go somewhere to sign on/claim online, maybe?

I think UKIP voters would struggle with a pen and paper let alone a computer.

i am a UKIP supporter and will be a voter .... I would like to know why you think this?

Where do you want me to start? It's not particularly intelligent to vote for a single issue party with no policies that uses xenophobia to attract voters. It's not very intelligent to vote for a party that campaigns on national issues in local elections. It's not very intelligent to support a party that has seen half its MEPs convicted of fraud and turns out former BNP members as candidates in local elections.

UKIP is just another far-right party made up of Little Englanders, racists and poorly educated people who fear the world around them. It doesn't offer any solutions and just attracts right-wingers who want to blame their problems on foreigners. It's telling that UKIP is supported by the EDL and the BNP.

Funny you mention intelligence, there was a paper published over four years ago detailing out the average IQ of voters of the main political parties over here, and the least intelligent voters were UKIP and BNP (with non-voters + voters of smaller parties coming out as more intelligent than BNP voters): http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/blog/2008/nov/03/greenpolitics-liberaldemocrats

It doesn't surprise me.

have you read the UKIP policies ? or have you just heard what their main point is? and they do not want all immigrants gone and it just be white people, they want to limit immigration and stop foreigners coming here to sponge... I was going to vote BNP but I then saw their polices and how radical they were and thought wow this is just a hate group. the main point is there are to many people in this country and I want anyone over the fools in parliament at the moment. also they will keep us free from the EU ....VERY IMPORTANT FOR OUR ECONOMY ... please educate your self before making assumptions to a specific demographic ...

I understand your point of view but it does not seem like an overly educated one.

I normally avoid voting and have done so once in my life, and in reference to the other posts, my IQ is just below genius. so yea just saying the studies just sound like propaganda to me. would be a good way to get people not to vote for them wouldn't ? by saying they are basically idiots?

I know this thread is now way off topic but that's possibly the funniest thing I've seen on neowin in many, many years.

What policies?

http://www.guardian....lections-emails

Also, it's interesting that you know what their immigration policy is because UKIP have said that they don't have one:

http://www.guardian....cy-under-review

my IQ is just below genius
I was going to vote BNP

One of these statements is not true and the rest of your post proves my other points.

I'm not sure what would make you think I'm enraged. I'm actually in quite a good mood now that I've found the only genius to potentially vote BNP in the country. Also, I think you might have missed the point of n_K's post which is surprising given how high your IQ is.

While still on the subject of UKIP, I have read their policies, and I'm against most of them. The standout ones, they want a complete freeze on all immigration for five years (which will harm the economy, as immigrants actually contribute more than they take away), a flat tax rate of 31% (which punishes the poor even more, and the rich even less than the Tories have done, and it'll also cost the treasury billions of pounds), no more wind turbines (which makes up about half of the UK's renewable energy, and will become more and more important in the future), and, obviously, take us out of the EU (which if you look beyond the propaganda, you'll realise the EU's benefits outweigh the downsides. Most recently, they passed through two acts which our unelected government refused to do: a ban on pesticides that kill bees, and a cap on bankers' bonuses). To their credit though, they do also want to raise the personal tax-free allowance to ?13,000, which is a good idea, as it'll mean a typical person working a full-time minimum wage job won't have to pay any tax, unless that is they're working 40+ hours a week, in which case they'll stray over the limit, so maybe ?15,000 would be better?

Have you even used the abortion of a website gov.uk for job seekers now created for the current government?

Instead of filling a booklet in as to what jobs you want to sign up for you have to use a site called Universal Jobsmatch and it is AWFUL.

No.

I did read though the ?14,000,000,000 on NHS computer systems and the ?3,000,000,00 on the Police national computer system is to be scraped, because it sucks eggs.

Another Labour chuck money at scheme.

Before anyone calls me a Tory, I voted Green in my local elections last Thursday.

Though I did use the jobcentreplus website once and put in a search for jobs within a 20 mile radius to kings Hill West Malling Kent England.

It presented me with jobs in Paris, Amsterdam, Belgrade, Lisbon, Eindhoven and various other places that also included Glasgow, Newcastle and Belfast.

Shakes head at the suggestions.

Actually that's down to private companies saying they could provide it for a price, then backtracking and saying they needed loads more.

British politics exists solely to provide comedians with weekly material.

Just like American politics; the only major difference being we don't have a British equivalent to The Daily Show or The Colbert Report. The closest we have to either of those is 10 O'Clock Live, which is only on once a week for typically three/four months in a year. :/

The place I work for could have done their systems for a couple of hundred grand, tops. Including all the infrastructure speccing etc. I really don't understand how these places get away with quoting such ridiculous amounts...

Still trying to figure out whether Lauren Laverne is hot or not. Anyway, there are plenty of other shows on UK TV and radio which are fueled by politics.
