In a bold move which in my personal opinion makes the software nearly useless Twitter has officially removed Facebook Functionality from Tweetdeck today.

With a bold Blue Bar at the top of the screen stating that their Facebook support will end of May 7th , 2013. That day has finally come. They have also dissolved the use of their Adobe Air and Mobile apps for Android and iOS, leaving only the Web and Chrome app versions of their software available.

Source (Official Tweetdeck BlogPost)

TweetDeck AIR, TweetDeck for Android and TweetDeck for iPhone will be removed from their respective app stores and will stop functioning on May 7. Our Facebook integration will also stop on May 7.

I thought that was the whole point of TweetDeck? One app for your multiple social networks...

Then again, as I don't really use Twitter I've never found a need to try it out, so I could be way off the mark.

They market the app now as a way to better control your twitter account with timed tweets and analytics as well as better ability to see where tweets are coming from and stuff, however for me the only reason i use it is to allow for one location to view both facebook and twitter without having to go to two apps/websites

for me the software is now completely useless.

Yep, had that come up for me last week. Coincidentally, it's on the same day TweetDeck Ltd. dissolved here in the UK. Needless to say, I am angry. I've been trying to find a suitable replacement, but it doesn't look like there's anything out there. :/ I used to use Sobees at one point, but it looks like that's been abandoned now; I installed it over the weekend, and it refuses to bring up my accounts, no matter how many times I connect them. Someone also tweeted me to try out something called "MyBucketz", but it's not for me (single column only, and it's a webpage, not an actual app). The best replacement I've found so far is called Yoono, which unfortunately lacks the kind of notifications TweetDeck has (it just displays a number in the icon on Chrome). I did also come across a nice looking app from Japan called Janetter, but it's sadly Twitter-only at the moment.
