How does having a Gun protect your Rights?

It keeps the power with the people and not the governments... ;) Not saying that everyone should have a gun or anything, just saying that is one reason, if it all falls a part.

He would not have stated that, and in fact has acted to the contrary. He said later in life that becoming a pacifist as he had done previously was a mistake. He gave the knowledge for the theory behind a nuclear bomb to the US government for the express intent of using nuclear energy as a weapon. He didn't participate in the manhattan project himself, but he offered his knowledge wherever he could to those who were participating, and he wrote a letter to the president recommending its development. He was effectively one among many behind the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

The world has been asking the USA this for a long time!

Why would they be doing that? The USA is neither the only first world country to allow ownership of firearms, nor is it the first world country with the fewest restrictions on owning firearms. I don't see why "the world" (which I think when you say "the world" you are just referring to western Europe) would be singling out the US for anything other than partisan political reasons.

Even if I disagree with their probable motivations, I think it's a good thing the feds took this down. I think this would have probably ended up injuring or killing an innocent person, not because I'm afraid a bank robber would print one and use it to commit a crime, but because of its unsafe nature. Some teenager with rich parents would have printed himself a plastic pistol and ended up shooting himself or somebody else on accident when the weapon malfunctioned.

No matter the motivation, the DoD made a poor choice here if their goal is to nip this in the bud. Two words will explain it all: "Streissand Effect". If they truly need time to evaluate what to do from here, taking this step was a very bad first choice.

Nice, the United States just loves to censor whatever they get their hands on. I say if it is in accordance to federal law, let it stay out there, the file is already out on the internet, so what's the point now?

To associate the words "The Pentagon" with the files to scare people into not downloading them. That's my best guess at least.
