Himalaya Water Tower is Designed to Save Water

Recommended Posts

Just imagine a water distribution tower on the top of the great Himalayan mountain that can supply water to half of the world's population.

Designers Dongbai, Hongchuan and Zhi Zheng have designed a massive structure that can store and distribute water from the top of the mountain range. It is believed that the Himalayas have at least 40% of world's fresh water. This massive water structure, known as the Himalayan Water Tower, will collect water and purify them, and store them in a specially designed frozen area for the future use.

The structure comprises six pipes for collecting and storing maximum water. The upper part of the tower houses the frozen storage. There is a special mechnical system to freeze the water and purify it for distribution. A transport system at the bottom of the structure helps to regulate the distribution of water to the nearby areas.

Dongbai, Hongchuan and Zhi Zheng's Himalayan Water Tower has also won the 2012 Skyscraper Competition held by eVolo.

That looks like something from War of the Worlds. The article didn't include what transportation system they would deploy, though.

gravity and pipes ?
