Getting arrested to quit smoking ?

In this booking image released by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department, is Etta Mae Lopez who was arrested for slapping a Sacramento County Sheriff's Deputy, Tuesday, May 7, 2013, so she could go to jail in an effort to quit smoking. Lopez, 31, pleaded no contest Thursday for slapping deputy Matt Campoy as he stood outside the main jail. Lopez was sentenced to 63 days in jail, with credit for the three days she served this week.

I heard about this a few days ago. I'll admit her method is a bit unorthodox, but if it works, then more power to her!

So much for quiting smoking.. She is going to have a criminal record which will be more worrysome than having a willpower to quit smoking. 60 days in a jail should be good enough time for her to get rid of physical craving. Real challenge will be more about psychological craving once she is out of jail. One single puff of smoke when she is out, she has to slap another officer to get another 60 days or more. Sounds like a good plan for her.
