?Zombieland? might not have made the cut, but that hasn?t stopped Amazon from moving forward with its first official series pickups. The network has yet to outline exactly how many of the 14 presented pilots they intend to pick up, though we?ve now learned through Deadline that ?Alpha House? and ?Betas? (no relation) will be taken to series first and foremost.

Written by Academy Award nominee and Pulitzer-Prize winner Garry Trudeau, ?Alpha House? follows four senators (John Goodman, Clark Johnson, Matt Malloy, Mark Consuelos) who live together in a rented house in Washington DC. The Silicon Valley-set ?Betas? stars Joe Dinicol, Karan Soni and Ed Begley Jr. (?Arrested Development?), following four friends as they attempt to strike it rich with a new mobile social networking app, produced by Michael London and written by Evan Endicott and Josh Stoddard.
