There is nothing about greed about it. MS doesn't make any more money of this. And for all this MS might have systems in place for renting games as well, they have said they have and are working on systems for temporary license transfers. if libraries can lend/rent out digital books, then I'm sure MS can make their system allow for OnePlay and others to have a rent system, heck You might be able to rent games from these people and be able to play them before you get the disk or not even have to get the disk if you don't want to. at this point in time we know so little that is as likely a scenario as your doomsday scenario.

I always thought it was fairly common knowledge that console manufacturers get a certain cut of every game sold, so it seems they would be making more money. Same way Sony or Nintendo would also be making more money if they implement a similar system down the road. Just to clarify though, I honestly have no problem with this as I buy all my games new anyways (whether it be on launch day for ones I really want or during sales for others later on). I also do think it's a problem when you have Quantic Dream coming out saying that there's 50% more people with trophies for Heavy Rain than there were copies sold, that seriously sucks for developers.

But on the other end of it... http://www.gamespot....-report-6407271

Still made plenty of money, got their name out as an awesome studio and development team, and gave way to them getting bigger budgets for even better games.

Piracy does not hurt a good product.
