Do you use an adblocker?

I didn't vote, since I'm not sure if Tracking Lists are considered an adblocker, even though they work the best.

IE blocks every single ad for me, with no need for extensions or plugins.

Anything that isn't content gets redirected to a 1x1 ping, not just ads but surveys, widgets, like buttons, counters, analytics, social networks, shock sites etc etc etc 12-24% of all requests from all devices even surface/windows phone.

I try not only to prevent infections but to prevent the malicious content from even reaching the Av in the first place.

I block ads and whitelist specific sites, nothing else, I rather actually see the real internet than nerf it to the point it's as dead as it was in the 56kbps modem days

No I don't use one. The website you're visiting that hosts the site probably doesn't make much money, and some of the ads (granted not all) are small businesses trying to make you aware of their product.

 

As a small business owner I chose not to block ads but don't have a moral objection to those who do. Just my reasoning.

I tried not using one for a while this year, but damn some sites have THE most annoying ads ever created, so AdBlock was reenabled

Agreed. I'd be more inclined and less afraid to whitelist, if ad services weren't such a huge attack vector these days.
