I just wanted to know what does it take to prepare for this. I heard it has some pretty steep requirements and the test is hardcore. I just want to ask to someone who actually has it to give me an idea of what I am about to get myself into, provided that you are allowed to talk about it. Any suggestion on study materials or classes would be a big help.

A co-worker of mine spent several weeks studying for it non-stop before going to the boot camp for it (which was approximately a week long, as I recall). Let me see if he has any tips to share.

I have it.

It's good to have and difficult enough to obtain. You also require 5 years [or 4 if you have a degree] to apply for a full CISSP otherwise you can apply for an Associate CISSP.

the big annoying thing with CISSP the ongoing CPEs which are required to keep your CISSP "in good standing" -- btw you will also require to know another CISSP who can sign off your CV/CISSP application form.

The exam - NDA'd to some extent so can't talk about certain things etc...

It's a difficult exam. It's a real head melter.

Good luck; it takes an awful lot of dedication to obtain!
