I have iOS7 installed and loving it, will look at OS X 10.9 tonight, looking at installing it onto a USB Drive, dont think its ready for main use. JaredFrost
You mean, OSX 10.9? - OSX 9 is very old. He probably does mean OS 10.9, since OSX 9 doesn't exist and never has.

+virtorio MVC Posted June 13, 2013 MVC Share Posted June 13, 2013 If I didn't use my Mac for work I would. I can take or leave most of the new features, but tagging would be really useful for me, and I'm interested in the changes of how it handles memory. When it's out for real though, of course. myxomatosis
Installed it yesterday. I?m very pleased so far! I?m using it on a rMBP 15" and battery life is considerably better (I won a big ~1hour), feels snappier. The new login screen is beautiful, the Finder is pretty good too with its tabs and tags. I wouldn?t install it on a work machine, but honestly it feels more stand stable enough to be used at home. In fact I didn?t encountered any major bugs so far. If you guy wanna see something in particular, just ask me, I?ll post some screenshots.

+Frank B. Subscriber² Posted June 13, 2013 Subscriber² Share Posted June 13, 2013 I'll be waiting until it's final to install OS X 10.9. For the time being Mountain Lion does the job just fine. fusi0n 1 Share

Grinch
Finally got it installed on my PC, was running 10.8.4 prior. I have to say my boot speed at least halved itself after a fresh install. So far not many issues have cropped up so I'm happy.

Dinggus
I imagine this still works It doesn't from what I've seen. Apple modified the installer. Why would they do that? This is what I found: 1. Show hidden files by opening /Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app and typing the following: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE killall Finder 2. Right click Installer.app file and click Show Package Contents, Open Contents folder, then look in SharedSupport folder. You will see InstallESD.dmg. 3. Mount InstallESD.dmg. 4. Copy the BaseSystem.dmg file out to somewhere convenient. 5. Do not mount BaseSystem.dmg. Just open Disk Utility and restore it to a flash drive. 6. When that's done look in the flash drive you just restored to and go to /System/Installation/. In that folder you will see a white icon with an arrow called Packages. That's a broken alias. Delete it. 7. Now go back to your InstallESD.dmg file. Inside is a folder weighing in at about 4.5GB called Packages. Copy that folder onto the flash drive in place of where the alias was. 8. Go ahead and hide the hidden folders again by going back to the Terminal and typing: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE killall Finder 9. Done. Boot from the flash drive and get to work. As per usual, don't blame me if you screw up. If you somehow need these instructions simpler don't be afraid to ask. Lots of smart people around here. Co-ords
Installed it on my iMac & MacBook Pro, and it runs great. I really love the improvements they have made for multiple displays with Mission Control! Super!! iOS 7 I'm not so fond of... the icons look dreadful and since I'm running it on a iPhone 4, I have no transparencies so it looks quite dreadful. Hopefully I'll have an iPhone 5 soon, and I'm sure it'll look & run a lot better on that device. Hopefully they will sort our the inconsistencies that are still in the current beta... Jub
I'll install it on my Mac Mini i7 tonight and see if it makes the machine usable. I can't believe Apple sells this device with a 5400 RPM hard drive ? I'll replace it with a SSD the moment warranty expires ?
Gifford Briggs
does the install of 10.9 function as a clean install - or if you install will it function as update and leave all of your settings and documents in place?

Jub
In response to my earlier hopes about a performance increase, I can now say that the difference is night and day. For once, they really did deliver. It can crash 20 times per day and I'll still save time compared to running Mountain Lion. Never thought I'd say this about an operating system, but I absolutely love this. Tabs, improvements to memory architecture and a vastly improved Safari (no longer destroys the HDD)?all I need right now.
