Is Demon's Souls really worth a system purchase?

Recommended Posts

I have been wanting to play this game and play The last of Us,but I am not sure if I should bite the bullet and invest on this(I need a TV too).

It's at the end of the console cycle, and besides I am not sure if I am ready to invest on the new consoles.

EDIT:It would be helpful if you guys can post some good ps3+tv combos to go(cheap ofcourse). No problem if I need to order from different websites lol.

Well, Demon's Souls just got added to the PS+ instant game collection, so if you get a PlayStation Plus subscription you'll get that game, Xcom: enemy unknown and Uncharted 3 SP. The last of Us has almost universally great reviews, and it would be worth checking out the PS3s other exclusives as well.

Even though new consoles are on the horizon I don't think you should ignore getting a PS3 and enjoying all the games it has to offer. You're coming in late which means you can pick and choose form plenty of good games and probably pick them up cheap.

If we knew where in the world you were we might be able to help out with console/TV combo deals.

I would wait. I want to play the Last of Us as well, but PS3s are still fairly expensive. I can't imagine they can go much longer without a price drop.

Yes. But wait a bit until the inevitable price drop between now and November when the PS4 releases. There's even a 500GB PS3 + The Last of Us bundle in the works that should be perfect.

I am in US lol,I am sure there will a bundle for the ps3 and the last of us,but how long do we have to wait for price drop?I see that gamestop has a lot of refurbished consoles(some of them called gamestop premium?),are those reliable?

I am not sure how expensive a future-proof TV will be,some of them costs around $500+!

There is no such thing as future proof. Buy the biggest LED TV that's within your budget. As for the price drop, if the PS4 launches in November, perhaps September? You can still buy the 12GB plastic PS3 and upgrade the HDD. It's not as rugged as the Slim and Phat but it will certainly work. Safer than a refurbished unit that could YLOD at any moment due to unknown wear and tear.

I'm not really a fan of refurbished products. I think they're a little dicey and I am not sure how warranty and guarantee legislation works in the US regarding refurbished products.
