While it's only been out since June 5, Undead Labs' zombie survival title State of Decay hasalready sold 550,000 copies. That's enough to earn it the distinct honor of being the "fastest-selling original game ever on Xbox Live Arcade." Rough around the edges, sure, but folks seem to be digging it. Need I remind that a PC version is still on the cards? High fives all around.

"Fortunately [the Steam version] been in development alongside the Xbox 360 version since Day 1, so we just need to integrate with the Steam platform and add native support for keyboard and mouse control," says Undead. "We'll also continue to issue Title Updates at a fast pace to refine game balance and fix bugs."

There's a sandbox mode "designed to be a pure survival simulation" in the State of Decay pipeline as well. Sound good? Think I'm going to hold out for this on PC.

They were also talking about implenting Co-Op in the future for State of Decay, not Phase 4 or the next State of Decay MMO.. but for this one.

No date set, unfortunately, but apparently it is in progress:

I never buy games on XBLA like these any more. I always wait until the PC release.

The PC version for this will have to wait, they're much more interested in getting the next MMO off the ground first than porting the SP version to the PC.

I've been holding off buying this because I wanted Co-Op, if that is true I will definitely be picking this up!

I enjoyed the demo, despite me rushing through.

Sales would have much better but sadly it was not available for download to people without internet connection due to natural calamities, deployed military personnel and those on vacation and in submarines.

It's Uncertain, but it's a possibility.

Undead Labs has openly held the stance that if “State of Decay” were successful that they would like to add co-op to the game through use of DLC. At this time, however, getting the base game into the hands of a larger user base has taken priority for obvious reasons. Those wondering why they can’t work on both should remember that Undead Labs is a small studio http://www.examiner....dition-of-co-op

May hold off a little longer but I'm sure I'll give in soon!

One thing is. If you don't have time to play it often. I'd hold off or fiddle the clock on the xbox because it continues while the game is off. It is fun coming back after a couple of days to find out friends are missing/dead

Brilliant game though. Can't wait to see what they do next.

Also this game runs on CryEngine 3! Must be the first third party non mmo game i've seen use it.

That's probably one thing I don't like about the game.. the game clock is constantly on. Not sure if I like it.
