neohelp
My business is looking for a 1U for a rack (I belive its called this way when it is on one row on a rack) NAS with Active Directory integration. I told him about building our own but, after several arguments, he refused. We currently have a 5 disk RAID5; Not sure if he wants to move that over so lets keep it 5 disk min. Other than that, nothign else. Obviously LAN.
neohelp
Should this be moved to the network section?
Daedroth
Why specifically do you need Active Directory integration?
Shiranui
NASs running on Windows Storage Server 2012 are starting to come out. Wait for one of those.
Ohwhyme
the most interesting would be synology ddm on vmware esxi. I have it running perfectly on a dell optiplex 790.
sc302 Veteran Posted June 19, 2013 Veteran Share Posted June 19, 2013 just get a nas with iscsi support, then attach and set shares+permissions through your ad server....done. something like this maybe http://www.netgear.com/business/products/storage/ReadyNAS-2120/RN21244E.aspx#
Roger H. Veteran Posted June 19, 2013 Veteran Share Posted June 19, 2013 Yeah, I like sc302 option better. iSCSI will give good performance too rather than just SAMBA.
