i plan on upgrading when it is final release, after reading about having to reinstall my applications to go from the preview to the full version it was no longer worth it to me to try something that would inevitably be free to me anyway.

If I can go from 8 to 8.1 Preview, then to the final version without performing clean installs I will.

Microsoft should really release WIndows 7.1 with the software improvements of Windows 8 minus the touchscreen metro garbage for those still using a traditional PC.

Probably going in a VM for a day or two and if no major issues will probably jump the gun knowing myself. Considering it's largely an update rather than a drastic new OS and a lot of the updates would be visual, I doubt they'll have that much stability issues.

I'll be installing the 8.1 Preview on my Samsung Series 7 slate (currently has 8 Pro) since I don't have many desktop apps installed on there (MAYBE 3?). I'll wait for the RTW version for my desktop Dell AIO which currently is running 8 Pro. I'd install the preview on both if I didn't have to reinstall all desktop apps, but one of my two PCs are better than none to preview with!

I look forward to the preview :)

Hoping to update to the full version of Windows 8.1 after performing a clean install of Windows 8.

I will still use Windows Vista at home.

Not this again.

I hope Windows 8.1 installs like a service pack and not like a whole new Windows. I wonder if you'll get a 8.1 license?
