No it's not.

But at the same time why should you still make money out of a work you did 5 years ago ?

Normal people don't. The guys who did your house in the past are not paid today for it. They need to build new houses to keep making money. They can't resell the same house over and over again like you can with digital media. Same for the guys who made your car. Same for the guy who cook your bread. If he's not making any more breads tomorrow he's out of luck.

Everyone got to work in a day to make money. Why should it be different in the digital world ? Why should i still make money from softwares/music/games i made 5 years ago ?

There is a reason you can buy a software like windows for ~$100.

If you want to apply "They can't resell the same house over and over again like you can with digital media", then prepared to pay $100s of Billions for one copy of windows.

No it's not.

How is a second hand copy of a digital item any different from the original first hand copy? The box it comes in may be a little ruffled but that has no bearing to the playability of the game. The game/movie/song are all identical as if you are playing a brand new version. You can't just go around saying "No it's not" with out providing a reason. My whole post pointed out the reason digital media is different from other goods with regards to reselling as second hand.

And why should you get paid for any work you do regardless of if you did it today, or five years ago? Why does the time period have anything to do with it? Why should you have to pay for airfares when the plane you are travelling on was built 5 years ago?

I was answering to "This isn't the same as a buying a second hand car with 100,000kms on the clock." Just forgot to remove the last part. That's why the explanation has nothing to do with the copies not being identical.

2:25 (approx) that MS goon needs to removed from any public appearance. What at terrible spokesman. Shame the interviewer wasn't faster or he could have ripped him to shreds.

I DON'T want a digital future that amounts to a glorified rental business.

I suspect in the end this is the way that all software is going, though.

The house isn't in the exact same condition as day 1 to day 365*5 +1. Also, there are rights and laws around actually owning a house.

Looks like Alex Navarro agrees with him on the part of why Microsoft reversed course.

It does make sense.

I have no idea who this guy is but I couldn't watch the video after I got frustrated the way he talks.

Yet another person who is making money by talking about hot topics on youtube.
