Hello,

 

I have just installed Windows 8 and I'm having trouble using VirtualBox. It installed properly and created a new VM for installing Windows XP without issues. But it's giving the following error:

 

VirtualBox - Error

 

Failed to open a session for the virtual machine Windows XP.

 

Path not found. (VERR_PATH_NOT_FOUND)

 

 

 

 

Result Code: 

E_FAIL (0x80004005)

Component: 

Console

Interface: 

IConsole {db7ab4ca-2a3f-4183-9243-c1208da92392}

 

 

VirtualBox is not the only app I've had problems with since installing Windows 8. Sandboxie and Firefox run weirdly too.

 

Any suggestions?

Got rid of Windows 8 and re-installed Windows 7.

Found this- possibly might fix your error.

 

The workaround is to re-install an earlier version -  3.1.8 works.

@redvamp128: The installer won't even run. It says it can't create Temp directory.

 

@Top Qat: It didn't work :(
