Dick Montage Posted June 23, 2013 Share Posted June 23, 2013 I just got a new TV, and it has all the inputs I need (4*HDMI), but it just occured to me, do I want all those cables (and the innevitable audio return) to/from the TV? I was wondering if I can put something between that all my sources connect to then output a single HDMI to the TV and maybe an optical or phonos/RCA to my stereo? Not looking to spend a fortune. LittleNeutrino Veteran Posted June 23, 2013 Veteran Share Posted June 23, 2013 Yeah something like that, it is kind of like a kvm for a television, you connect all of your audio and video devices to the receiver and it will pump out the video to your television and the audio to your stereo and you can choose the device you are viewing by the receiver. Virtually all receivers now have some form of hdmi switching... this also eliminates return audio because the receiver will grab it. Don't have to do anything huge with it, but also gives you the option of more central control and predictable audio levels. Would one of these work?
