Messenger & Notification Bug in Safari

Recommended Posts

Is this a known bug? Or is it only me?

The Messenger and Notification icons are there, but not properly displayed on the front page only.

Browser: Safari 6

OS : 10.8.4

I'm currently having that problem with Chrome (v27). They appear properly maybe 1/3 of the time.

It's not just in Safari. I've been seeing it in both IE10 and Firefox 21. The layout also changes each time I hit refresh.

Looks as if your css is cached, mind clearing?

Tried multiple times on my end, bug still pops up, and I've noticed my avatar likes playing hide and seek as well.

Clearing my cache (with CCleaner) fixed it, clearing it from within Chrome didn't work.

Can't see your Avatar over here.

Your firefox 22 screenshot is loaded completely different html templates. The other stuff looks css related (which gets cached). So it is possible, theres something on our end serving old templates. Will bug dave/marcel about it.

Clearing the cache does not change anything. It happens only on the front page, and the news part of Neowin (neowin.net & neowin.net/news/*). The icons in the forums part (neowin.net/forum/*) are displayed properly next to the username.

Should be fixed.

Not quite yet.

I have emptied and quit Safari twice, just in case. Things are better, but I still get this :

As you can see Firefox is now displaying the icons properly compared to last time.

Safari seems to have some problems still. Those two squares on the far right appear when I hover above the location of the Messenger and Notifications icons. That is better than the first screen shot that I posted.

It is still only affecting the front (neowin.net) and news (neowin.net/news/*) pages only, forums (neowin.net/forum/*) are fine, no display problem there.
