Hello

GAME is selling a semiused Wii for $50. Everything needed to play. No game (dont really care; I have a HDD and a dock).

Should I go for it or will noone produce games for Wii anymore now that the Wii U is out?

I personally wouldn't bother. I have been tempted to get a cheap Wii a few times in the past. Brand new with mario kart and a wheel but I've always resisted.

I got one from Game when it dropped below ?40 here in the UK. Its great value for money considering its around the same price as a single new Xbox game and has a massive back catalogue.

Aye well good deal, you've got some decent Wii games and a massive backlog of gamecube games you can play :)

get it - with a spare sd card or external hd laying around it has a great selection of homebrew which is well worth it.

Homebrew Browser is a great resource for tons of user created apps/games/utilities etc.  PM me if you need more info.

Yeah i'd get it. If you can get a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles with it. Then you'll have justified buying it.

Excellent game.

Yes, Xenoblade Chronicles is fantastic. There are quite a few NIntendo exclusives worth playing if you haven't.

Plus, it makes an excellent NES/SNES emulator.

If you have a good enough PC i would emulate the Wii, you can render the games in 1080p+ resolutions and use the Wii Mote via Bluetooth if you wish.

I guess it depends what games you want to play as to how well your emulator experience is. Mario Kart and Smash Brothers with my Xbox joypad play great on the PC. I found our Wii got used for a month or two when it was new and that was it, don't think its been turned on in the last year and a half sadly. I would sooner just emulate the two games I like to play on the PC, they run better than on the real thing.

If there's a few games you had wanted to play on it then by all means go for it, if not then don't bother.  I have a few friends with the console and got my fill at their places so I personally wouldn't bother with it, but if you haven't then it could be worthwhile.

With regards to the question if they'll continue to produce games for it, I personally wouldn't count on it.  3rd parties have been lacking for a while and Nintendo is much more focused on Wii U/3DS at this point in time.
