I'd like to edit that text, would help when switching between multiple RDP sessions.

Edit: http://www.windows8core.com/how-to-permanently-remove-build-8400-evaluation-copy-watermark-from-desktop-of-windows-8-release-preview/

?

First one doesn't work, second one is removed, can't be downloaded :P

I only saw an eval notice after the first boot during installation. It hasn't come back on my desktop or start screen at all since then. (I upgraded from 8.0 release.)

Same... I installed some updates, restarted and the text hasn't been back since.

I upgraded from Windows 8 Pro to Windows 8.1 Pro through TechNet (ISO) maybe that's the difference? Did you guys update through the Windows Store?

I had updated via the store, and the text went away after just a couple reboots. I have since also performed a reset using the ISO, and it was also only there after the initial boot. It has since disappeared.

Don't Remove Windows 8.1 Watermark with MyWCP Watermark Editor

I  figured why metro apps crashed for me. Its MyWCP Watermark Editor. If you remove the watermark with MyWCP Watermark Editor than it working but metro apps will start crashing after restart.

That has been the issue since it was used for Windows 8 RTM. It should be considered Warez because it obviously modifies more than shell32.dll.mui and should be kept away from at all costs.

That many posts on your account and you don't even bother to read?

Sigh...

I have not had any issues with it at all, running all sorts of metro apps, i have rebooted several times and run windows updates, everything seams to run without issue for me.

It can be done with a little AutoHotkey GUI picture script to cover the text and Photoshop for matching the GUI picture to the desktop wallpaper :) you can even put an action label to launch or do something on that part of the screen ;)
