TORONTO ? The three actors who portray the Trailer Park Boys announced Thursday they have acquired the rights to the Canadian comedy franchise.

Robb Wells, John Paul Tremblay and Mike Smith ? better known as Ricky, Julian and Bubbles ? secured the rights from the show?s producers Mike Clattenburg, Barrie Dunn and Mike Volpe.

Financial terms of the deal were not revealed but it includes the TV series, specials, the first two feature films and all Trailer Park Boys assets and intellectual property rights.

The upcoming movie Trailer Park Boys 3: Don?t Legalize It, is not included.

?The Boys are the only ones with the intimate knowledge and love of the show to keep Trailer Park Boys alive and well,? Clattenburg said, in a release.

Trailer Park Boys follows the misadventures of residents of the fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park in Nova Scotia.

A new season of Trailer Park Boys is set to begin production soon and will be available on SwearNet.com.
