V-Tech
A new report claims that LG and Google will once again partner for a Nexus smartphone to debut later this year. According to Korean news site Daum, the Nexus 5 will be based on the Optimus G2 and be equipped with similar internal components. The G2 will reportedly feature a 5.2-inch HD 1080p display, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The device is also said to include either 2GB or 3GB of RAM, LTE connectivity and a 2,700 mAh battery. LG is expected to announce its G2 flagship smartphone at a press event on August 7th, a few months before Google will debut the Nexus 5. Unlike the G2, the Nexus 5 will run a stock version of Android. Google will reportedly announce the Nexus 5 on October 5th with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. http://bgr.com/2013/07/10/nexus-5-release-date-rumor/

techbeck
Hope it is available on Verizon. I will be looking for a new phone around then. Glad its not Samsung again as I rather give my money to a diff company. As long as the device is worth it.
V-Tech
That's quite a step up from the 4. Ye, but no word about storage.... It must have a bigger HD than the N4. A tops of 16GB is too low. Hope it is available on Verizon. I will be looking for a new phone around then. Glad its not Samsung again as I rather give my money to a diff company. As long as the device is worth it. They sold the N4 on the Play store and you could connect it to any network you want.

Not a big deal if there is expandable storage and you can add a 32 or 64gb card at least. They sold the N4 on the Play store and you could connect it to any network you want. Yea, was kind of hoping not to spend the $600+ price.
f0rk_b0mb
Looking forward to Android 5! Hope it ties up all the loose ends and unifies the UI. :)

They sold the N4 on the Play store and you could connect it to any network you want. The N4 was never a CDMA phone - therefore it won't work on Sprint/Verizon in the US. BTW, storage on these devices is not "HD" (I assume you meant hard drive/hard disk). These are flash based storage. And again, to reiterate, Google will not support expandable storage in the future, they've said it in the past... These are just rumors. Let's see how true it is when it actually comes out. AJerman
It would be a fantastic base for a phone. I can't even tell you how long I've been waiting for them to move away from static buttons. The G2 looks awesome, but a Nexus version would be even better.
TAZMINATOR
Yea, was kind of hoping not to spend the $600+ price. They sold N4 for the half of your mentioned price. Possibly that they sell N5 for the same price. Maybe a little bit more than the current ones. We will see.

RangerLG
Really..will have to check that out. Thanks Yes, the N4 in the US sold directly from play at $299 (8GB) and $349 (16GB). They charged a crazy shipping price and there is sales tax. There are also Galaxy S4s and HTC Ones on Play as well with plain Android. They are $600 and $650 though.
