So I'm not sure about installing the old Vista gadgets back on Windows 8.1 but I do like the CPU/Memory and Weather gadgets. Can anyone recommend replacements?

And, yes I know I can open the Start screen for weather, but I want it visible on the desktop, so save it ;) :p

try openhardware monitor, you can drop temp icons into the notification area for one option, from hdds, cpu, ram you name it.  http://openhardwarem....org/downloads/

Also I'd suggest you go have a look in the Rainmeter Deviantart section, they have boatloads of hardware and weather configs that are simple to use and easy to pick from. Hope this is of help :)

Are you wanting a Net monitor also? If so, here's a light-weight program that sits in the taskbar...
