does win 8.1p still leak GDI objects?

Not this again , no one ever right clicks that fast or even right clicks that often so this is a non issue anyway

Way to go and find a complete non issue.  Sure, in a lab, with a setup specifically for recreating this - yup.  Real world?  Storm in a teacup that anti-MS zealots can have their little party over.

Is that a memory leak or garbage collection not being instant?

479 here in W8 (and not going down)

its a pretty major issue imho

Have you EVER seen it in regular use without actively working to cause it ? cause the only way you're going to see it is to actively cause it just to cause it.

so, no it really isn't.

I'm not going to comment on how big of an issue it is or isn't (I'd really have to know if it happens over time, since many never have to reboot), but they should just fix it. Period.

Just fix it, then it will be a non-issue.

Maybe it's a third party extension misbehaving?  Have never had an issue like this, comments on the video claims it's been there since XP, but I'm not seeing it on 7 or 8.0.  Goes right back down immediately, as expected.

daily use programs like foxit pdf reader make a mess of gdi objects leaking all over the place as you open more pdfs simultaneously.

try resuming the pc from sleep state with gdi objects going over 1500-2000...

In Windows 8, I'm right clicking like you were, and the GDI object count goes up and then comes back down to what it was when the menu is closed.

So if I get this right, you expect MS to fix a broken program like Foxit instead of expecting the Foxit people to fix it?

No, it's really not.

seems like something that definitely needs to be fixed

Agreed and I have no doubt it's been logged somewhere.

So, that's for Microsoft to fix that a 3rd party app is inelegantly handling the UI?
