Kondrath
A friend of mine asked me to put together a part list for him. He's looking to buy everything by this Tuesday. I realize that some of the parts had promo codes that expired on 7-14-13 so I'll have to find alternatives in the morning, but I thought I'd post this here in case anyone had some better / cheaper alternative parts. He will be buying the OS at his university since it's cheap. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Kondrath/saved/1XGs CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 750K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($79.99 @ Amazon) Motherboard: ASRock FM2A75 Pro4-M Micro ATX FM2 Motherboard ($69.98 @ Outlet PC) Memory: Patriot Viper 3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($72.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($85.99 @ NCIX US) Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card ($174.99 @ Newegg) Case: Rosewill Blackbone ATX Mid Tower Case ($31.99 @ Newegg) Power Supply: Corsair CX 600W 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX12V Power Supply ($54.99 @ Microcenter) Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($18.98 @ Outlet PC) Monitor: Asus VS238H-P 23.0" Monitor ($119.99 @ Newegg) Keyboard: Logitech K120 Wired Standard Keyboard ($9.80 @ Amazon) Total: $719.69 (Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.) Dark-Heart
Also if your looking for a lower noise system I would go for a Gigabyte GTX 660 with wind force cooling, as there near silent and if you want to you can clock the crap out of it without needing extra cooling.
