GMOs can kill bees

Recommended Posts

Earlier today, I saw a picture on my newsfeed:

In my opinion, this is worrisome, since without bees, there will be no pollination and plants will no longer multply, leading to mass extinction. I have seen this whole GMO thing in other websites too, but this picture really made me get worried.

You are being lied to, Just like the fictional cross contamination lawsuits.

I don't believe there's been done any specific and/conclusive research on this yet.

Bly thing known at this point is that thebee population especially in the more southern parts(and spreading north) of America is having an issue with bee population and large scale bee death or loss. So far the why of this isn't known though...

What ??? There is a massive death toll with honey bees and your answer is that ? Ignorance is bliss for some people it seems

Nicotine based pesticides is one of the prime cause of bees decline. Europe is not using nicotine based pesticide anymore, and it shows.

Image seems like garbage being honest.

'Europe got the message', eh, really? When?
That why some tory scumbag recently said GM food was safer to eat than normal food?

Actually there is, you know companies like Monsanto and some other company funds research to disprove everything regarding their pesticides and GMO seeds danger.

can we move this to conspiracy thread,

GMO food products in one form or another have been around for longer than anyone here on Neowin has been alive. in fact If you have ever eaten a Banana, or Tomato it was GMO, as well as many other fruits and vegetables that could not exist today without it. Sure there are a few strains out there that are dangerous because they are being tested still (and are not in the food supply) but for the most part these are just fear mongers trying to scare you.

Bees don't even do half of the pollination. Total bogus. Plants aren't dependend on 1 type of insects.

Also most bee's don't even pollinate. Just a few out of the thousands of bee species do. I thought it was less than 15 species that did.

And the seeds are made by crossbreeding, just like you can't breed a mule. You can't breed crossbred plants.

Here is a wild idea how about you actually factcheck these nice shiny gifs instead of instantly believing their claims ? You know how about actually thinking critically  ?

Well that's nice and non falsifiable, How about just saying anyone who disagrees with me is wrong ?

I don't understand why this topic is so disregarded. It don't think it's justified to immediately disregard them as conspiracy. If it's true that GMO products have been consumed for decades, well there are quite a few health epidemics that may correlate with that. Maybe not as well but it's certainly not conclusive either way. These large companies like Monsanto need to be watched like a hawk and regulated to no end but this nonchalant attitude is severely dangerous I believe.

I don't see why Monsanto is any different than any other large agricultural company once you debunk the lies that have been spammed again and again like the cross contamination lawsuits that never happened. The ban on re-using seeds which is irrelevant because its a waste of money to collect them all etc

It sorts the skeptics from the pseudo-skeptics that's for sure.

The ban on re-using seeds is relevant as patenting life should not be possible. It sets a very bad precedent.

Great that's a nice opinion, Guess what that affects ALL of farming not just Monsanto. As there are other company's that do this too with high yield variants of corn for example.

Also there's nothing to stop said gmo food showing up in your local health food store. Because all food is GMO its just the method that's used to produce it that's different.

most GMO seeds are patented, as it not occurring naturally in nature.

The same is true for seeds of high yield corn produced through selective breeding.
