The ban on re-using seeds is relevant as patenting life should not be possible. It sets a very bad precedent.

Great that's a nice opinion, Guess what that affects ALL of farming not just Monsanto. As there are other company's that do this too with high yield variants of corn for example.

Also there's nothing to stop said gmo food showing up in your local health food store. Because all food is GMO its just the method that's used to produce it that's different.

The same is true for seeds of high yield corn produced through selective breeding.
