Why Microsoft

If you read what the blogs and the speculators are saying, many are screaming, ?the sky is falling? on Microsoft?s tablet foray. The chunk of change they?re taking a hit on could certainly be construed as such, but if we take the long view of how Microsoft operates, as well as some historical points, the picture becomes a lot different.

The bigger issue I think is that the tablets were already underpowered when they were released and now almost a year later things are worse, it's like trying to sell a second generation Core i7 chip when everyone else moved on

Good article and I agree, the Surface RT "could" come back with the proper steps.  But the article compares apples to oranges.  The Xbox 360 was a great product that people really wanted.  So writing off because of the RROD issue was bad, but seen as a "good move".  The surface RT was written down because it's a weak product that no one wants.  So, it's not really the same situation.
