Which keyboard layout?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have the keyboard you can see in the attached picture and I'm trying to find out which layout it is.

I bought it pretty much 2 years ago directly from Logitech and now want to buy another one with the same layout.

I'm pretty sure that at the time I had bought US-International layout, alas this is no longer showing as an option on their site.

When I contacted Logitech they told me I should get the DUTCH (QWERTY) layout, as it would be the same.

However when I searched on Google for that layout, the ones that were presented didn't match up.

Also tried searching using the Product and Serial Numbers on my keyboard, but they don't seem to be related to a specific keyboard layout.

Does anyone know for sure what keyboard layout I have?

Many thanks!!

I don't what's not to get, you've got a standard american qwerty layout?

It's not standard American QWERTY. Notice it has the Alt GR + Euro symbol.

OP - the Netherlands Logitech website has the solar keyboard with the same layout. Link

to get the same layout just buy a QWERTY keyboard, unless you are talking about the extra keys in which you will just have to look around.

With that keyboard I can do all kinds of accents. I write in 4 different languages and I need to do the ?, ?, ?, ?, etc...

The second key to the right of the L allows me to do the portuguese c with a tilde below it, whereas on a standard keyboard it only comes out as 'c, you cannot combine them. Same goes for other symbol keys.

The problem I have is that in I'm in Germany and I can't just look around in stores. They have nothing but German keyboard layouts in the shops. The only place I can get a different layout is buying directly from Logitech, however what they tell me I have from the picture above is not the same as what I come up with when I search through Google for Dutch (qwerty).

That keyboard layout is very close to it, but also not the same. Thanks

Try to look for the keyboards on ebay and see if they have matched keyboards to sell based on your country language. They may have either new or used keyboards ... you might have lucky day if you find one there.

Even though the UK and US keyboard layout look similar, the function of the keys is different.

Whereas you have keys with the " `~ " symbols (top left), or " ' " " (between L and ENTER), you cannot combine them with other keys. In the UK version when I press the " key it only makes the ". In the US International I can combine it with other letters to type ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, ?, etc... That is the main difference.

Thank you for your suggestions, the US International layout is indeed what I currently have.

By the way, I just got an answer from Logitech, which might help other people with the same issue. It is in german but I'll try to translate:

"Um das US International Layout zu erhalten m?ssen Sie bei der Layout auswahl Dutch ausw?hlen. In Holland sind die meisten Tastaturen QWERTY (US International) und deshalb wurde Dutch aufgelistet anstatt US International, da sonst die holl?ndischen Kunden dieses Layout nicht finden k?nnen."

Basically it says:

"In order to order the US International Layout you have to select the Dutch layout when presented with the Keyboard Layout Menu. In the Netherlands most keyboards are QWERTY (US International) and that is why Dutch is listed instead of US International, as otherwise Dutch customers would not find this layout."

Makes no sense to me. Why not include a Dutch and US International layout to the menu but point them to the same box afterwards. It's just a word play.

Anyway, I'm going to order the Dutch layout now and see if it is really as they say.

Thanks again for your help!!
