Fez II is cancelled

I don't know much about Blow, besides making Braid, but Fish and Beer both seem like ******s to me.

From what I've heard the guy making the later Penny Arcade games is pretty much the same.  Seems to be a common thing among popular indie devs on smaller games...I certainly haven't heard any good things about Notch outside of what he made.

I dont expect improvement on that front when the gaming community is divided and unnecessarily hostile, but I would hope they start being a little more professional in general.

There's wrongs on both sides of this argument IMO, but worse still it doesn't do gaming any favours having stupid spats like this never mind harming all involved.

At first Marcus was just flat out trolling them unfoundedly. Both Jonathan and Phil basically said they have nothing to say on the X360/X1 self-publishing news because it was still a rumour at the time GI asked for comments. Perfectly reasonable, but Phil went OTT with his Twitter rant more than Blow which seems to be the only thing Marcus picked up on.

But Phil's reaction to his comments are nothing but typical of his personality. I seriously believe he has some mental health issues and just isn't suited for social networking. It's been made worse ever since Indie Game The Movie released because people watched it & now purposely go out of their way more than ever to troll him over stupid ######. They know he'll react (usually in an undignified way), and he stupidly plays into it. How he hasn't worked that out yet is quite perplexing tbh.

I do agree with some points that Marcus made & I've even called out Jonathan Blow for it myself on NW in the past. He only makes a song and dance about something when he wants to pitch his new game, usually under the guise of complaining about Microsoft / XBLA / XBLIG.

I don't think Fez 2 is cancelled at all but I hope Phil uses this time to sort his life out & remains in silence while he works on it. We don't need social commentary from him on every subject. Cliffy B is another one who needs to ###### off quite frankly. Either decide if you are part of this industry or disappear instead of blogging from the sidelines. Guy is worse than Kotaku these days

That's not "quite" how he responded to the request for comments on the changes to the indie developer stance(ignoring it wasn't actually a change, but an announcement and clarification that was announces months ahead)

Yeah I'm paraphrasing. He went on a rant and eventually posted his thoughts that he had nothing to say because nothing was confirmed.

Like I said, he's not suited for social networking, not least because he can't control his emotions but he's also incapable of conveying his opinion or thoughts properly.

Not taking your bait on the indie policy change comment. We have differing opinions how Microsoft has handled it, so leave it at that.

(see Phil, not so hard ;))
