Good articles/blogs for IT Administrators?

Question

Anybody have any good articles, blogs or books for IT Admins trying to keep employees up with technology or good ways to push employees to utilize technology?  Anything that an Admin can send out in a newsletter so users may be able to see it our way a little, or understand why we keep pushing for changes?  We claim to be a company that keeps up with technology, and we've done a pretty good job, but some of us feel like we are getting behind.  It doesn't help that the average age of our company is 54 (I remember right)....

I've got issues with a few people and departments that hate any kind of change (that's nothing new), but a couple departments we could take the work out of creating 100s of excel docs with a single program.  They don't even want to discuss it, and they are starting to hold us up.  (We need to upgrade some servers and get rid of XP before support is dropped for them.  They think we can keep these servers and PCs forever...)

Or any suggestions would be helpful too... just wanted to start a discussion from this and maybe others will have ideas and more people than just me will learn something new...

Yep Security Now is pretty great. I'll keep an eye on the thread for any other suggestions.

For conscientious system administrators I would say that listening to TechSNAP on a weekly basis is a must. The TechSNAP SubReddit also has links to numerous security-related articles, some of which are discussed on the podcast although many are not. Nonetheless it is an excellent resource for keeping sharp.

Although this suggestion will benefit system administrators more directly than end users, I also recommend that you subscribe to the security announcement mailing lists for the operating systems and major technologies you are responsible for. That way you are aware of security issues and their solutions as quickly as possible. For example, debian-security-announce and apache-http-announce are very common security announcement mailing lists for admins to subscribe to.

Hello,

If you are looking for a security-related blog with coverage at all levels, might I suggest We Live Security?  I may be a little biased as I'm one of the bloggers, though.

I was talking more about getting end users to keep up with technology or embrace technology.  Like I said one department creates 100s of excel spreadsheets a month and link them together.  I'm sure there is some accounting program out there that will make their lives easier, but they won't have it because it's something different...

This thread is more the direction I was trying to go... https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1167989-is-it-its-job-to-babysit-or-teach/page-3#entry595851373

I keep up well with technology.  What I really need to improve on is getting the end users to keep up with and embrace new technology and software.  But it's great getting some recommendations on podcasts and blogs.  thanks!
