Samsung firmware changelogs?

Recommended Posts

So just now my galaxy s4 upgraded 3 times, nothing major from what I can see, kernel Builds from what I can tell:

It went from 3.4.5-534999 to 3.4.5-1107849.

I've googled the hell out of it to try and find a change log with no hope?

Maybe someone here has any idea where I can view what changes were done?

Maybe bugfixes... I want to know as well but I couldn't find anywhere..

I want to know what's new such as new features, etc.

Features don't think so :P

But yeah, i'm interested to know what bugs were fixed, mainly wifi related :/

Oh yeah ... I read those topics... at least I don't have Whatsapp..

Hope those are fixed asap for you.   Did you let your carrier know about those problem as you mentioned? They probably will work with the vendors and Google and fix it.

Draconian Guppy, AND ONLY DRACONIAN GUPPY!

Get rid of the s4 and get the better s3 drac :p

Or get the lumia 1020, then let me know if it's worth me bothering to get one :p

Seriously, I have no idea, I just hope the update (when it does filter to the s3) addresses the issue where the devive on occasion forgets what custom ringtone has been set for certain features.

Well the wifi bug has been "acknowledged" as an android bug, so not much the app developer can do I guess.

Well I chose my phones on audio performance not photographic capabilities hence why i never considered any of the lumias, the s3 was almost on par with the iPhone, when with the s4 they got it right ( so did HTC but I wanted expandable storage...).

But yeah, man android is bug littered... you'd think with all the monies google has, they sit down a team of 20+ devs and say "all right, FIX  EVERYTHING" :P

Preach brother

I think I'll go back to symbian

Well my history would be, leave out the couple odd I might forget.

Nokia 282 (I think?)

Sony ericsson t162

Motorola brick  el cheapo

Motorola v300

Motorola V360

HTC slider (with windows phone 5.x)

Nokia e63

iPhone 3Gs

iPhone 4

Galaxy s4.

and the e63 DROVE me nuts... :P (symbian)... In all honesty, the only issues I had with the iPhones was software updateability, because they were bought from ATT, so they needed to be jailbroken  and ultrasn0wed to work in Honduras, other than that, I dropped the iPhone 4 in a bucket of water, 3 meter falls on asphalt, 1 meter directly into steel pipe, few scratches on the corners but you really had to look.

I was leaning that way too, but went with the HTC and had no regrets. Sure I use a fair bit of storage, but then I backed this:

So it wasn't such a deal breaker for me then.

Hopefully your S4's issues can be resolved quickly! Android is an awesome platform. (Y)

Damn, that much abuse and it was still running? Dude, if it's not too late I'd get another one...

(I think I'll just go back to my trusty old N8)

Also, does it accept 64gig cards like the s3 just out of curiosity?

Cool idea, yet it ruins the phones slick look, was it delivered? it says "estimate delivery july 13" and it's almost august?

For my other android issues see:

https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/1167407-android-conundrums/

If it were up to me, it would be android freeness (plug and play) + iOS "polishness"  + apple build quality.   hey, one can dream!

If i lived in a country with more cheap widespread 3G (or better) Mobile internet access, I would've picked the htc one and cloud ftw...

And that's just resuming the story, the nastiest fall it ever took was i was getting on the sideskirt on one of these at work:

Toyota-Hilux_High_Power_2009_photo_02.jp

2006 model I think...

then I noticed a spot on the roof, I had the iPhone 4  in right side top of my chest pocket, as I leaned up to see what was on the roof, turned out to be normal wear, I kinda slipped on the side skirt, then phone fell off, hit the edge of the open door, as I panicked I tried to grab it, BUT instead In that brief moment I opened the door to get safely down, knocking the phone WITH THE DOOR, in a straight horizontal line for like  4 meters away (2 meters high), hit the gravel... not a single scratch... I think i must've created a thread here on how it amazed me after everything i put that phone through, those horror stories of screen cracking and breaking were just lemons IMO.

Actually, you know, if music was my main concern, I think I would have not got the s3, my N8 was better using my now ancient AIWA HP-X30 and my wife's iphone 4 beats the s3 too. (But I'll never tell her that :p )

I cannot confirm, nor deny this because I have yet to try it out but I've been told the 1020 is good for music.

Yeah I usually wait for gsmarenas (and a few other reputable sites) for frequency response tests and based on the lumias 925, 928,  920 and 808 I don't think Nokia will get their act together sound wise.   A lot will argue bla bla bla, you won't here a difference, trust me, with a good pair of headphones or IEMS (my case) you never want to go back to listening to music the way you did before, the details you miss out are unbelievable! :P

And yeah I tried the s3 personally ( only to confirm gsmarenas readings on it) and it sounded "alright" but not enough to replace the iPhone 4 i owned back then...

Alrighty on topic!

HOW IS IT POSSIBLE SAMSUNG DOES NOT RELEASE CHANGELOGS?
