Game: Crackdown for the Xbox One and what do you want to see?

Recommended Posts

I downloaded the Free Crackdown on the Xbox 360 and I haven't played it since 2006.  I had finished it (well not getting every orb).

What I began to think about is if Crackdown were made for the Xbox One.

I thought about how I would do Crackdown today.....

1) Using the latest graphics technologies not making it cell shaded, but more realistic and making a huge futuristic world that is dynamic.  If you look at the kind of futuristic city of Killzone: Shadow Fall, but much bigger than this as it's more than just one city.

2) Using the cloud to render massive physics where possible.  Even water would be look realistic.

3) Using the cloud to render A.I. for the cars and people (see this for an example.... http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-06-19-microsoft-makes-the-case-for-xbox-ones-300-000-server-cloud-but-what-do-developers-think).  Hundreds of thousands of people and gangs with powers of their own.  With A.I that is off the map.

4) Making the cities dynamic so that things can change over time, weather, day/night, even adding different parts of the city on the map as you travel more and more across the map.  The Cities itself can evolve over time.

5) Single and Multi player modes

What would you do or add that would be interesting?  This is just off the top of my head before I go to bed.  Read that Link that I posted and think about this.  It will be interesting to see the responses.

You're pretty much hit on the things i'd like to see in a XB1 sequel to the game.   It'd be nice to actually merge SP and MP into the dynamic world so that people can drop-in and out of the world and interact with it, if you want to keep it ordered and allow for a more pure SP as well then you can limit this feature to select areas of the city/world etc.

I know what I wouldn't want to see. I wouldn't want to see anything from Crackdown 2. That game sucked.

I would want to see RealTimeWorlds back on the game. With that said.

When my character jumps I don't want to see his arms and legs swinging like that. Always hated that for some reason.

I would like to see a more realistic look to the characters as well.

Single player and multiplayer aspects as well.

I will stop there. I love crackdown .. And I would write quite a bit of what I would like to see

The game should stick to its roots, the cell shaded graphics are part of what makes Crackdown unique. A Crackdown game on the Xbox One should however run in 1080p @ 60fps, using the latest and greatest graphics technologies.

4 player co-op like in Crackdown 2, with a free roam mode.

Besides that I would actually want the game to have some proper GTA style missions, which are fun. Not just go and kill all these random gang bosses or capture supply points.

Crackdown is one of my all time favourite games, with some proper missions and story it could be so much more awesome than it already is.

I agree Crackdown 2 was horrible.   Same cities with no innovation in gameplay and those Zombie guys were just silly.

Way to ruin one of the best things about the game.

Nah, I don't dig that art style on this game.  That is one thing I never cared for was the cartoony world.  I want color, I just don't want a cartoon look.  Colors are good, lots of color and lots of futuristic buildings.  I like the look of Killzone better.  It's full of color and full of the future, but needs to be more interactive and a larger city.
