primexx
I just noticed that Firefox now plays all media files in-browser and totally disregards the "Applications" action selected. E.g. http://www.mediacollege.com/downloads/sound-effects/star-trek/tos/tos-computer-01.mp3 I can't find anything on google or anything in about:config to disable this behaviour. Anyone know how? primexx
changed up my search methods a bit, you can get rid of it by disabling "media.windows-media-foundation.enabled" but that also apparently disables H.264 support.
The_Decryptor Veteran Posted August 13, 2013 Veteran Share Posted August 13, 2013 Yep, Firefox will show any format it supports by itself, without defaulting to external apps/plugins. The only reason that works is because you're disabling MP3/AAC/H.264 support, causing Firefox to fall back to handing it off to other apps. +Zlip792 MVC Posted August 13, 2013 MVC Share Posted August 13, 2013 There is good similar answered thread on mozillazine, if I get your problem correctly. Read through it I suggest: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2729657

The_Decryptor Veteran Posted August 13, 2013 Veteran Share Posted August 13, 2013 They're treated the same way images are, if they add an option to open them in another app then 99% of people who use that option will do so by accident and just break things.
