DrunknMunky Veteran Posted August 14, 2013 Veteran Share Posted August 14, 2013 During E3, Microsoft revealed the Xbox One would launch for $500 in November, initially to 21 different markets. In a blog post today, Microsoft called that lofty goal "aggressive," and has announced the Xbox One will only be available in 13 territories this November. Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand will be the first launch territories for Xbox One and are unaffected by this news today. Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland, however, will receive the console "as soon as possible" in 2014. If you live in one of these affected countries and have pre-ordered an Xbox One, Microsoft will toss in an unknown free game as penance for the delay. For more information, Microsoft suggests contacting your local retailer. http://www.joystiq.com/2013/08/14/xbox-one-scales-back-launch-to-13-markets-this-november/ http://news.xbox.com/2013/08/xbox-one-confirmed-markets oh Microsoft  Not sure why my topic was deleted but I'm reposting it seeing as it's Xbox news for this sub-forum. BajiRav
HawkMan : Hypothetically won't you be able to get one from one of those thirteen countries and use in Norway? Those reports started as early as July 31st. Big difference not meeting demand and pulling out of launch markets, but ###### logic right? But hey, if Sony does pull out of markets I'll make sure you're not disappointed Hawkman. Wait, isn't the reason MS is pulling back because they don't feel they can meet demand? Both Sony and MS seem convinced that they wont be able to manufacture enough consoles to meet demand. Sony has only ended pre-orders, MS has delayed release in some countries. Either way, things point to shortages for both consoles. I don't think MS is doing this on purpose. That's not a large difference. ###### all matters about launching in all the markets if only 7 people in each one can get their hands on one. Both are going to see shortages this holiday. Not something anyone should be surprised about and not something you should be going around trying to slam either about.
trooper11
Shortages suck, no way around that. I've lived through many of them and it doesn't change.
