From Wikipedia:

The Premier League is an English professional league for association football clubs. At the top of the English football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 20 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Football League. The Premier League is a corporation in which the 20 member clubs act as shareholders. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 38 matches each, totalling 380 matches in the season. Most games are played on Saturdays and Sundays, with a few games played during weekday evenings. It is currently sponsored by Barclays Bank and therefore officially known as the Barclays Premier League. Outside England it is commonly referred to as the English Premier League(EPL).

Last season the title went to Manchester United.
Promoted to the Premier League this season: Cardiff City, Crystal Palace and Hull City, replacing the relegated Queens Park Rangers, Reading and Wigan Athletic.

Who's the title favourite this year? Who will be relegated? Discuss in this thread.

I think the league title this season could be one of the most exciting. Man Utd did look good today against a good Swansea team.

For relegation, Crystal Palace and Hull. I can't think of another team. I'll wait till Christmas to pick that one.

Good win for West Ham today. Spurs looking dull again. I miss the days with Redknapp in charge.

Southampton are still off to the flyer. Definitely a lot better than last season. Also looking like we got a decent squad with lots of backup in all positions.

I reckon top 10, maybe even europa league is on the cards.

As long as Liverpool don't win the league I will be happy with anyone winning it :p

I am very happy with our result against Spurs today was really impressive!

Ravel Morrison is finally realising his talent

I very much doubt it will last, but i am seriously considering putting a bet on saints reaching Europe  :)

What makes Saints performances even better for me is we still have a number of people playing now that were with us in league 1. Add that to the players coming up through the academy ranks and you get the sense they are building the team to succeed in a big way.

Outstanding performance from Spurs today!

COYS

LOL they were third, no fourth best today, Arsenal winning in every department.

I know it's the F.A.Cup but I always have preferred the F.A.Cup, all those rounds then, Wembley!

Arsenal 2 (Cazorla 31, Rosicky 62) Tottenham Hotspur 0

I wouldnt say sad, Like i said its only the cup - Not all that bothered.

The F.A. Cup is the most watched football competition bar the European cup final throughout the world.

Amazing, you seem bothered that Tottenham Hotspurs won't be winning it this year.

F.A. Cup is a great competition it benefits all the teams that play in the English leagues even, Wrexham, Cardiff and Swansea.

It's not just only the cup.

Reminds me how excited Tottenham fans got when George Graham took them to the league cup final and they won.

Arsenal put out reserves, like Liverpool, Man.U/City and Everton do.

Thats just a cup.

I know im not alone in feeling like the Cups have been pushed aside in recent years, they just dont seem to have the importance they used to. For me, Cups weren't high on Spurs ambitions list and neither should it have been.

Just found this, not a big fan of Hansen but i agree with him here

Alan Hansen is a moron.

I wish they would remove him, Linekar, Shearer and Savage from the 'Match of the day' presentation team and give it up to people that know about football and can present.
