Yep, it's legal.  ESPN3 is the same way.  Only a certain list of providers get access to the content.

You might be able to go through a proxy website and trick it.

These days companies have the right to do anything they want. There's no such thing as consumer rights anymore sadly.

I guess technically they can block their shows from anyone they want. They are copyright holders so they can do as they wish.

If they wanted to block all FIOS users as well (for whatever reason, dispute or not) they can.

Now do they want to do that i'm sure not because that will just put them in a dark hole with other ISPs.

They can have a dispute with TWC regarding cable, I get that.  But blocking the ISP side??

CBS needs to be slammed by bad PR or the FCC.

I guess they don't want to give people more ideas that they don't need Time Warner to have CBS. Time Warner pays them $XXXX per year so if people got used to just watching on CBS.com then Time Warner might not feel the urge to get them back. CBS also makes most of their money from TV ads, not internet so they might be losing out on tons of revenue that way too.

All in all, CBS is doing what it can do to get what it wants. They want more money and they are gonna try getting it one way or another. I understand costs go up sometimes (which still blows my mind, stuff should be getting cheaper, not more expensive!) but when is it enough?

Well, some people will just get their shows otherwise --and "otherwise" will not bring CBS any ad revenue :D

Though CBS is far from innocent here, it's a good opportunity to dump TWC. :D

I called the other day to downgrade my internet from 50/5 to 30/5 and he asked why and I said "I'm trying to give you guys less of my money". He chuckled and said he understood, but he didn't. I'm not worried about my money, I just don't want TWC to get it. If there was any other choice than crappy DSL I'd be gone in a heartbeat.
