Woman dislocates jaw trying to eat massive burger

Recommended Posts

A Liverpool, UK woman learned that eating a triple-patty burger comes with risk of injury when she dislocated her jaw at a local restaurant ? but after leaving the hospital, she said she'd return for another taste of the burger.

Nicola Peate, a 25-year-old social media manager, tweeted two weeks ago that she had dislocated her jaw while eating the "Kids in America Burger" at the bar Almost Famous.

Peate told the Press Association she had taken a bite of the burger topped with pretzels and candied bacon when she felt a pain in her jaw. By the next day, the suffering became so severe she went to the hospital to have her jaw re-set, according to the story.

^OK, I'll bite (pun intended). How does one eat that? Take it apart and eat it in several layers? Actually that would have to be split with a friend or two...

I have no idea. I've never ordered one or seen anyone eating one, though several waitresses have assured me that it is ordered several times a week. I would say you would have to layer it down.

Just two?

I'm not exactly skinny and I don't know that me, my wife, and my daughter could eat all that.

How did this occur? I mean at some point of opening your mouth you usually feel you've extended it to its limit and then you stop. If you're attepting to eat something I'd logically conclude that you would either break it apart in layers, cut it into pieces, or eat something smaller. Maybe there was some intoxication of some sort to make it less likely she could feel that her jaw had been extended to its limits?

Looking again, I think you are right. There is a third patty down there. And all that bread PLUS whatever is around it... yep, that's a family meal in one plate lol

I'm not convinced she was just drunk.

Sounds like she had the munchies.

I've dislocated my jaw three times why yawning, so it's not that hard to do (or i get bored very easily).

that has to destroy your jaw joint and ligaments. The only creatures I know of that dislocate their jaws are snakes.

added: not referring to you as a snake btw.. But i hope you have had NO adverse affects from jaw dislocations
