Windows 8.1 9600.16384 RTM INFO.

Seems like I got 8.1 RTM installed fine via upgrade from Customer Preview.  Not sure yet if I will format and do a clean install. I do know that Acronis True Image 2014, that was just released, does not install on 8.1. Also Logitech Setpoint doesn't work correctly either.

So is the start menu fully functional? I left Windows 8 to go back to 7 a few months ago.

I also have stuck with Win7 partly because the start screen is just too obtrusive with my workflow. Even though they haven't restored the start menu 8.1 like a lot of people wanted, they at least gave options to have a more direct access to the programs list. But I still find it so inefficient the way the programs are laid out across the screen rather than a single vertical list. The performance upgrades over W7 along with these tweaks is enough for me to move over to W8.1.

Anyone captured or caught this library bug?

when you go to "This PC" --->"Documents"...right click on any folder, then go to --->"include in library" -->Documents. Once you do that, you will see Libraries appears on the left side navigation. But when you close the window, the library disappears

I haven't noticed any changes to Windows Media Player.

Two things I found different from the Preview are that IE11 now auto-fills your login info if you allow it to store the info (as opposed to only autofilling when you started typing the first few letters), and desktop IE11 let's you open synced tabs from other PC's now.

It doesn't make sense to have a single vertical list when the screen is still taken up fully.  You do see more when it's laid out across the screen compared to scrolling through a vertical column.    Now, if in 8.2 or 8.3, whatever, they change it and allow for desktop users to have it actually be a 1/3 slide in screen with a vertical list then that'd be great, but I don't expect to see it happen, not anytime soon.   It'd be better to just add drag and drop to it and have folders that collapse and so on.  Then you can make the list anyway you wanted it to be even if it still does take up the whole screen.

The sync features was already there in IE11 Preview, however, in IE11 Metro, there is a new icon in the addressbar that removes all css and change the page to a book-like design.

Apologies if this has been asked, but I have a legit Win 8 pro upgrade key, I want to install the 8.1 RTM as a clean install.

Can I use the leaked x64 8.1 disk to clean install them activate using my key. On version 8.0 there was a reg change that let you clean install then activate and I'm wondering if the same procedure would work here.

^ you should be able to install without activating (they re-enabled that ability) then your key should allow you to activate once installed
