Carjackers get big surprise

Recommended Posts

Later reports: the gangsta's didn't live in the complex, so they were hunting for what they hoped would be an "easy mark." Armed carjackings (a wide variety of weapons - even gas powered nail guns with disabled safety's) have become the latest thing among gangsta's, with several happening in an 8 hour period the other day.

Waiting for Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, New Black Panthers etc. to show up crying about the "murder of a 17 y/o innocent kid." /semi-s

Off-duty Detroit cop kills teen in attempted carjacking

An off-duty Detroit Police officer shot and killed a 17-year-old early today during an attempted carjacking in Southfield, according to investigators.

The shooting happened as the officer was getting out of his Dodge Charger at 2 a.m. in the parking lot of the Sutton Place Apartments near West Nine Mile and Lahser, Southfield Police Lt. Nick Loussia said in a release.

Two teens armed with handguns approached the officer, who pulled out his own handgun. He shot one of the alleged carjackers, killing the 17-year-old, acording to the release. The second teen, a 16-year-old, dropped his handgun and ran.

Southfield Police officers caught the 16-year-old, who is in custody, according to the release.

Both handguns used by the suspects were recovered and the investigation is continuing.

Isn't there a gunman in every other car in 'merica?

Not really. The news makes it seem more than it is. It is rather bad in larger cities, but the odds are you will probably die of old age and not be involved in any violent crime.

air nail guns? What they do, drag along an air compressor connected to a few hundred electric cords?

Not air nail guns, GAS - as in flammable. A small dose of gas from a small disposable canister is detonated in a combustion chamber and a piston drives a bar which shoots the nail at over 1,400 feet/sec (425 meters/sec.) These guns are totally cordless but much more powerful than battery units would be.

They should ban these assault style nail guns. The fact that they even call it a gun means it is a tool for killing, nothing else. Glue guns should also be banned because they make children comfortable with pulling a trigger.

I'm not sure either would last more than 5 minutes on Detroit's streets...

Just send in the Power Rangers. Problem solved.

What is it with right wing people thinking that since there are certain people that speak up against injustices, they also need to speak up for every crime everywhere thats committed by black people.

Opportunists? Maybe, but you're one as well, by picking and choosing a story everyday to validate some weird bias and prejudices you have, at least they have a valid message.

****s getting old.

get a clue.

YOU get a clue.

Are you so blind you don't see the parallels to the Zimmerman case? Granted these hoods were armed, but both cases have a 17 year old getting perforated by an older armed defender. As an off-duty and out of jurisdiction officer he was acting as a civilian under our Stand Your Ground and self-defense laws.

Yeah and in this case, they confronted him, not the other way around as with Zimmerman. They aren't really at all alike

In the Martin case it was alleged that Martin did circle around and confront Zimmerman, and where the confrontation took place supports that (closer to Zimmerman's vehicle than where he ended his pursuit), so they ARE similar.
