Alleged Windows 9, Windows 10, Windows RT and Windows Phone details emerge

Recommended Posts

Windows 8.1 has RTM'ed. But who cares? Not us! We're more interested in what's to come, and today details regarding Windows 9 and Windows 10 have emerged online. The information comes from a source called WZOR, who has been behind countless Microsoft information leaks in the past.

He claims that Windows 9 will be similar to what we have currently, while Windows 10 will be something new. More so, he claims that Microsoft is planning to join both Windows RT and Windows Phone together.

According to WZOR, Windows 9 will be similar to the desktop OS we know today. He claims that Microsoft is planning to bring the old Aero interface back, but not as we all know it. That's all he teases regarding the Aero interface, but he also claims that Windows 9 will make an appearance in a years time, Much sooner than expected.

Regarding Windows 10, it appears the operating system will be something rather different. WZOR claims that Windows 10 will be a full 'cloud OS', and that an internal desktop concept will be available on September 1st. As this is an 'internal' concept, we doubt it will be seen by the public.

With Windows Phone and Windows RT, he claims that Microsoft is planning to merge both operating systems together. He doesn't give any more information regarding the matter, but it has been rumored several times in the past that this is Microsoft ultimate goal for both Windows Phone and Windows RT.

WZOR also claims that more details regarding everything you've read here will be available in September.

Of course, this information is coming from a 3rd-party source, so we ask you to read with a grain of salt. We assume 'Windows 9' and 'Windows 10' product names are codenames and not currently the actual names of the operating systems.

Please someone gives WZOR a lollipop...

First we should get Windows 8.1 RTM then look beyond... all his claims are hypothetical assumptions...

Sigh, this guy has been wrong more then he has been right and he always back-tracks and "explains" how he was right the whole time, but everyone just interpreted his statement wrong.

I would trust 1% of these "rumors"... rumors usually start from some type of actual facts and just get embellished upon. This is just random stuff that I'm pretty sure he half-way comes up with in his own head of what he *thinks* will happen, with no real factual info.

Windows 10 probably wouldn't be ready until 2020.

Don't forget about Windows 8.11

Windows 8.11 for Workgroups

Windows 9

Windows 9 15

Windows 9 18

Windows 9 ME

Then you can have your Windows 10.

I just can't see Windows 9 bringing back Aero Glass; nor that that's the major news about it. I would imagine 9 or 10 must allow the Desktop to interact with the Modern UI.

It was believable up until the part about merging RT and WP8, even Microsoft aren't that dumb.

Actually that has been tossed around by several analysts for a while. No different than iOS on iPhone/iPad really. Except for ModernUI it would be WP8/W8/W8RT/XB1?

Arguably they're already "merged" from a technical standpoint, so all that's left is the UI - and I don't see how you can really translate one to the other.

It makes even less sense than forcing Metro on the desktop.

I think this story is full of hot air. Aero is never coming back nor is the old style Windows I grew up with :(

The Start Page for both is basically a block of resizable squares. It would be different code but I don't see why it couldn't just be Windows ... Mobile (gulp) or touch or something with all the development being under the same umbrella.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it come out in a years time but I highly doubt that Microsoft will go back to Aero this quick. I feel the Windows 8 brand has been damaged and the only way to salvage things will be to release 9.
