A friend of mine has just got himself a Maximus VI Gene Z87 and it has that MPCIE Combo module so you can add a wifi card and a NGFF SSD, well he has an Mini PCIE WiFI card to put in the module but he doesnt have any antenna leads or antenna for it (and yes theres no talking him out of using WiFi) so anyway he asked me to have a look and I am stuck as well so I was wondering if any of you know where I can buy 2 Antenna leads and Antennas for him, we are in the UK and struggling to find some.

Thanks.

Does his Mini PCIE wifi card have a back panel with connectors for antenna?

If so then this is what you need.

If not then this will connect to the PCIE Card

"well he has an Mini PCIE WiFI card"

The model number of this card would be helpful!

Likely U.FL connector:

Best bet would be ebay or walk into Maplin and look at the component catalogue / ask the guy at the back of the shop in the hole who might know a resistor from a switch.

Edit:

If you see the adapter on the wiki page (bottom right), that's the cable you want: U.FL-Female to SMA-Female

He has the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235.

The issue we are having is this...

This is what comes with the Maximus VI Extreme and Forumula, with the Gene you only get the first bit, the card in that image without a WiFi card in it, no Antnna leads or Antenna. So he needs 2 antenna leadslike that, that will alow him to attach them to the 2 antenna holes in the I/O shield and from the outside the case, screw on the antennas. Problem is the leads the antennas connect too, I can't find any.

OMG you are a god damn GENIUS i'd kiss you if I could.

I found the cables on Amazon. Thank you.

Now I need to find a Dual WiFi antenna that does 300 Mbps Wireless with a longish cable and magnetic base to stick to the side of his case ><.
