[UK] What would you consider a good price for a Sony PSP (PSP-300x)?

What would you consider a good second-hand price for a Sony PSP (PSP-300x)?

They're ?70 new on Amazon, so I've been bidding ?40 (not inc. delivery costs) for many on eBay (second-hand ones without any games) and I always get outbid.

Am I really under-bidding, or are people just being stupid? 'cause the amount of auctions I'm losing, I'm feeling like I'd being tight or something!

How much do they end up selling for on eBay?

Normally a few ? more than I put, which means they've bidded more than the final price.

I don't think you can find out how much the winner's max bid was.

On eBay you can filter on left for completed listings.

Yes but as I said, that doesn't show what their maximum bid was, only what the winning price was.

There could be a big difference.

It's pointless knowing it sold for ?50 if their max bid was actually ?60, because thinking "damn, if I'd have put ?51, I'd have won that" would be an incorrect thing to think.

But you look Buy it Now sales, if you look at average it gives you price people willing to pay.

Very rare an item goes much lower people willing to pay.

Auto-bidding is one of the reasons I can't be bothered with eBay.  It feels like it favours vendors over buyers and the process lacks transparency.

Just curious why do you say favors vendors? Most vendors think opposite.

That's interesting.  I would have thought it favours vendors because of the fact that it can force prices up artificially (i.e. people add bids not trying to keep up with an autobid not realising what's happening, two autobids automatically compete, etc.).

I suppose it could also have a negative impact on a sale if someone who feels the same way as I do detects an autobid and then stops bidding altogether.

Either way, I don't like it and I don't use eBay because of it.
