iMac Target Display Mode /w MacBook Pro

Hey Guys,

 

I grabbed a Thunderbolt Cable today so I could use my Retina MacBook Pro's Hardware to drive SimCity while using my iMacs display. Unfortunately the Keyboard and Mouse don't get moved over along with TDM. Does anybody know of a Virtual KVM or similar that could be used in order to not have to swap the USB over to the Retina MacBook Pro when I enter TDM? Any thoughts on this?

TDM is literally just a display - none of the connected peripherals (other than TB and speakers) will be connected.

 

Can you not just connect your iMac's keyboard/mouse to the MBP? I wouldn't fancy gaming over a virtual KVM tbh.

Yeah, I've discovered the same, very disappointing. I figured it'd give the same functionality as a Apple Cinema Display. I guess just swapping out the USB Cable is the best solution for now.
